Avoiding Family Philanthropy Pitfalls

Lorraine del Prado, Bill Zook, and Sarah Hopper will provide advice and guidance to help you help your clients realize the promise and possibilities of philanthropy for meaningful impact, now and in the future.

Lorraine del Prado for more than two decades has led or guided fund development programs that have expanded the philanthropic base of organizations and raised hundreds of millions of dollars in outright and legacy gifts. Prior to founding Del Prado Philanthropy Training and Consulting, she served as Vice President for Seattle Children’s Hospital Foundation and led their principal gift and legacy planning programs.
Bill Zook also has more than two decades of experience as a planned giving consultant on behalf of hundreds throughout the U.S. He worked initially with Planned Giving Services, Inc. and its founder, Frank Minton, beginning in 1996. He then joined planned giving software and services company PG Calc, Inc from 2005 to 2015. Prior to becoming a consultant, Bill practiced estate planning law. His firm, Evergreen Planned Giving, LLC, offers planned giving and endowment consulting services  to organizations engaged in all sorts of charitable activities, and to individuals, couples, and families, along with lawyers, accountants, financial advisors, and members of other professions.
Sarah Hopper is founder of Sound Philanthropy, LLC. She is a seasoned philanthropic advisor with more than seventeen years of experience working with families and individuals to maximize their charitable giving. As a third-generation member of a philanthropic family, Sarah understands first-hand the dynamics of family giving.
